Having achieved poor marks in assessments quite a while back now, I gave up on games (more specifically, computer/video games) for a while, just as one might give up smoking, or some other ‘addiction’ (not that I was addicted to games of course). The purpose was quite obvious: to focus on school work and my studies.
Unfortunately, it seems my marks have not increased quite as much as I would have liked. True, my English has improved quite a bit, but in areas such as Maths and Biology, I am still sadly lacking. It seems that my habit of ‘bludging’ extended past gaming.
I found myself easily distracted. Suffice to say, my piano skills have improved admirably, but my studying skills have not…
With Trials coming up in a week and a bit, it is worrying. What’s slightly comforting, is that there is about a month between the Trials and the real HSC. Time to get seriously serious. Seriously.
